One Common Goal

We all have one common goal in life. We want to feel loved, respected, and wanted. We want to feel like we belong in this world and that what we say matters. We all want to be successful and live a happy life, and share our happiness with the ones we love.

The problem is we don’t see that. We’re all blinded by the materialistic things that we want or don’t have, the amount of money we have, and our social status. Don’t get me wrong I’d love to have a a certain brand of clothes and shoes, I’d also like to have a nice car and house, but none of that matters in the end. What matters is who I am and what I positively do with my time here on Earth.

I wouldn’t consider myself to be a religious person ha; I’d say I’m more of a “spiritual” person. I think that there is an ounce of good in everyone, and that that is enough to conquer World Peace. What do I mean by World Peace? I don’t mean everyone in this entire world coming together, holding hands, singing Kumbaya around a campfire. When I say World Peace, I mean we learn to look within ourselves. Come to realize that we take for granted the simplest things in life and the most beautiful things this world has to offer is overshadowed by all the ugliness and hate we display.

There has to come a point when we face the fact that things won’t get any better if we don’t make a change. I know I don’t know the trials and tribulations you had to go through in your life, but what I do know is that you do want the common goal we all hope for.

Sometimes, we think it’s not fair. We think life isn’t fair. We think why are some people famous, why don’t we have free health care, why don’t we have this or that…Well we keep asking why, when the answer starts with us. WE have the power to make a difference in this world. It starts with us getting out of our own ways. You’re going to come across people and situations that are going to tempt you to act out, want revenge, feel jealous or envious, but is that it really worth it? The only stress and complications that come in life are the ones you allow. We shouldn’t be judging others based on what’s on the outside. We shouldn’t be judging anyone at all. It’s not our job to say what goes and what doesn’t.

I’ll admit I do believe in God. But it doesn’t mean I live my life under the label of a religion, or by the book of the Bible, and I would never throw my beliefs on someone else to make them feel as though they’re to be looked down upon because they do not see things the way I do. I believe that God sees what’s in our hearts and he wants me to see others that way as well. I’m not a pure spirit. I’ve made lots of mistakes, and I’m sure there will be more to come. But I know the mistake I won’t make is hurting someone else intentionally based on something that does not matter.

I don’t exactly know where I’m going with this but I want people to know that my objective in life is to help others. We all want that common goal. I truly believe the only way we’ll get there is if we stand together. WE THE PEOPLE have the power. We shouldn’t depend on the government, they need us. If we want to make a change politically, economically, and socially, we need to find the courage from within ourselves to stand with each other. I’m not saying this will happen overnight, but it saddens me when I see a tragedy happen, many people die or get hurt, and we all feel the need to come together then. It takes a loss to gain love. Why can’t we learn to put our differences aside, bury our selfish ways and spiteful antics, and learn to believe the goodness that IS within us? No one wants to be alone, misunderstood, or hurt.

My name is Izelliah. I believe in the Common Goal. I believe in World Peace. Some may not believe it but I do. I’m not delusional and I do know that this won’t happen overnight. But remember this, It takes ONE tragedy, in ONE day to bring a NATION to ask why, how, when is it going to end? But it’ll take a lifetime for us to become one, love one another and work together to achieve that one goal that we all have.
